Here is an interesting twist. I have a logical true\false field in a grid. When I use a textbox in the grid (i.e., for T or F) everything works as expected. When I use a checkbox AND fire up two instances of the application, then click on the checkbox for the SAME record from both instances: the first instance works as normal, however, the second instance displays a "Waiting for lock" message until the other instance saves the record. Note that there is NO difference in the code! Using a textbox everything worked, using a checkbox it did not. After playing around, I found that the message did NOT appear so long as I did NOT bind the data to the control. I wouldn't want to NOT bind a checkbox in a grid because then ALL of the display values (not actual values) change when one of the rows is changed.
