>OK. That's what I thought they were doing. There is nothing to stop an application from updating the Registry. We had a similar policy at a place where I used to work. We just wrote a little VFP app that unlocked the registry via an API call, then ran REGEDIT to do what we needed.
I've thought of that, but LAN has discouraged us from using the registry under win95, due to bloat, perhaps, or maybe just local machine consistency...
However, under the proposed new NT configuration, most users will not be able to install anything at all. However, local Admins like myself will have much greater authority to install, alter user accounts, edit registry, etc.
I think that means that users will have to bribe me to install their favorite game < s >
