Thank you very much for your swift response. Your first code really works but the second one is not. It has no error but the output still the same (trimmed all spaces). I have slight problem with your first code: it produces two linefeeds. I removed < BR > but it's still the same. The output looks like this:

The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.

The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.

Its supposed to be:

The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.
The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.

Pls advise.
