Harry,

As strange as the behavior seems, I have come to expect a few of these anomalies every now and then from VFP and FPW. There have been certain times when something completely unexpected produces the weirdest results or helps to resolve a problem in an unfathomable way. Why? Who knows....perhaps the dieties that control foxpro are a little mischevious at times. I cannot supply anything more than speculation as to why your solution (of moving off of the record and then back) helps. Unless, somehow vfp has buffered or cached the data. Actually, I recently had a problem where vfp was relying on data that was in memory even after a TableUpdate occured. I had to either move the record pointer like you are or open and close the table.

good luck!
....douglas
