When I do a Get Latest Version with VSS 6/VFP6, VSS spins through the local project and compares the results, whatever I don't checked out automatically gets pulled down fresh. This can be a problem if I've left stuff checked out. Again, I don't know what will happen if you're allowing shared checkout; I only allow one person at a time to chekc out things from a given project, so it's possible that if two people have things checked out and not merged yet, the changes in VSS won't be reflected properly.
