Title:
Where should I park my UDF
Hi everyone !
This following message was posted on the VFE 5.0 Conference last friday and I did not get an answer yet but need one soon ... can someone that know VFE 5.0 help me out. Here we go...
I have TableA containing the "retention schedule" and TableB containing "documents" + TableA's FK .
I need to make calculations to determine the "current status" of the "documents".
I have looked at the Sample.Local App for guidance (i.e: BizOrderItems.ColLineTotal.ControlSource) and as I understand it the content should have been a "field" but I find a calculation of "2 fileds" from 1 SourceTable, so i'm not much better off in my understanding. >;)
My calculation is based on a number of fields from TableA(retention schedule) and various (not always the same ones) fields depending on the formulation of the retention schedule. So I would think a UDF is indicated.
The calculation will be used in some StandardBizObj, GridBizObj and GridChildObj.
QUESTION 1: Where should I park my UDF code ?
QUESTION 2: From where should it (UDF) be called in order for the calculation object's result to be viewed in the above ???BizObj?
Thanks
