I have been told that certain large Govt Agencies pull large data sets off of tapes and use VFP to pull that data into VFP tables to query for stats. Kind of an ad-hoc scenario. These certain agencies cannot find anything faster for loading large sets of data than VFP and then running queries against. There big itch is bigger file sizes because presently they have to break the files into pieces and do joins on the answer sets. These agencies have direct contact with the decision makers at MS and have put in multiple request on larger file sizes.

In my opinion MS would rather improve SQL for these needs and sell you the NT License, VFP and SQL license to do this kind of work. I like you would rather have the change in my current position in life, but if I was in their shoes I would rather sell you the big mining truck than the pickup truck to do mining jobs.
What ben makes tracks for what wil be. Words in the air pirnt foot steps on the groun for us to put our feet in to.
