My favorite; the actual title is
Thw Windows NT WIN32 API Super Bible, by Richard Simon. Another one is Dan Appleman's
Visual BASIC Programmer's Guide to the Win32 API, which takes things from the VB POV, and is incredibly well-written. Another is
Windows 98 Developer's Handbook by Ezzell and Blaney.
