Anyway, whenever one of us has a table in a database open, irregardless of whether it is opened shared or exclusive, the other person can not create an EXE or APP. The annoyingly simple "File in use" error message blocks our path.

Hi Harry,

I came across this problem when trying to generate the APP/EXE while on the Document tab of the Project Manager. I just had to select the Data tab before compiling and everything compiled fine.

This was in VFP5. There were 2 of us on the project but we were not using any source control software (and yes, it was a pain to make sure we don't overwrite the other's code, but managment didn't wanted to give us SourceSafe).
