The MS Acme setup program determines if the installation media is a CDROM, if
not, it assumes it is updatable media and writes the name of the last person who installed the program to a setup.inf? file. As far as I know, there is no way to circumvent this since it is using a system API call to determine the media type.

>I have created distribution files and place them on a mock CD (don't have CDR) on a write-protected zip disk. When I try to install to see if everything works, the setup prg. wants to write to the CD or write-protected zip disk. Is there a work around for this. I am using VFP 6.0.
