Thanks for the reminder to get back to basics!
I did do as you suggest, and I'm now more confused than ever. It works in the command window.
Is it possible that I need to do a specific open of the database? I've always assumed (and never run into a problem) that the dataenvironment opens and closes the necessary databases and connections.
