Hi John,
>With your help and your posted files I got my ISE installation working just fine. Thank you. One further question: Can you run DCOM98.EXE on WIN95 systems, or do you have to run DCOM95.EXE? Is there any harm in running DCOM9X.EXE when not needed. Is there any harm in running DCOM9X.EXE on NT systems? TIA.
As the others have said, DCOM98 should be ran on both 95 and 98, if you try and run it on NT you will get an error (I think) but the rest of the install is fine and your app will run. There are a couple ways to solve it, you could write a wrapper app for the DCOM98.EXE that detects the OS and use it as an Express Extension. If you think of anything more devious, let me know.
