Add a filter on the Filter tab of the view designer. Put ?paramname in the "example" column and the field that you want to compare it to in the fieldname column. When using it in a form, you should assign a value to the parameter and then requery the view(usually after prompting the user for a value). Also, you should set NoDataOnLoad to .T. on the cursor in the data environment.
