Thanks for the info. The client has an on-site admin who has done the switch. We pretty much already decided that "share mode" should be left on, and that for max reliability "oplocks" (opportunistic locking) should be left off.
We've worked around the issue so there isn't a huge push on to resolve it. Thanks anyways.
