Hello all,

I'm in the process of selecting the right platform to develop a three tiered system. Following, I'll give a short description of the system and what my options are.

-the system keeps track of the configuration of various telecommunication type of equipment within buildings.
-there is a requirement to keep the history of all changes.
-potential for 100 simultaneous users
-mission critical application
-the contents of the database must be burned onto CDs on a regular basis for off site utilization of the application

Here's my platform selection

Client tier: Visual FoxPro
Business rules tier: Microsoft Transaction Server (MTS)
Server tier: SQL Server 7
Off-line Server tier: MSDE (SQL Server compatible data engine)

My questions:
-Does VFP truly shine in such an environment or would it be preferable to use VB. I need to collect strong arguments to convince others that VFP is the right tool. My best argument at this time is the lack of true object oriented concepts in VB (ie inheritance) I'm I right on this?
-I have no experience with MTS. How is it?
-Another ongoing debate is to scrap all of the above and use Enterprise Java Beans/CORBA standards. I have no knowledge at all with this technology. Can anyone comment?

Let me know if you would like more details, and thank you in advance for your time in helping me sort things out.
