>>>Question for general discussion: If you are an independent developer (or work for a consulting firm) what software do you use to manage your business? I used to use a program called Timeslips years ago but I don't know what's "da bomb" these days.

I've been using the Money99 personal & business edition to manage some static website stuff I've been doing on the side for the dragboat community, & some engine building side jobs my husband does in his spare time. So for small business purposes like that I think it's great! Very intuitive, very configurable & customizable, allows me to do record keeping & invoicing my way & still keeps track of my accounts better than I can without a tool. Plus takes like no time at all to setup a small business profile since it builds it's lookup info as you work (like when making purchase orders or invoices, it takes your new line items & automagically adds them to all the other places you could need them). Add that to the fact that it ports everything to TurboTax at year end extremely well (TurboTax analyzes your money file & prompts you with tax saver deduction questions). I really like it... nice brain dead tool that does an excellent job with an area I hate to waste time on :) Like I said before, I can't wait to upgrade to the Money2000 personal & business edition.
