The Economist (www.economist.com) publishes world Big Mac prices, (http://www.economist.com/editorial/freeforall/library/index_special_collection.html) but they use it to measure the relative value of currencies (and as an excuse for bad puns). They also, by the way, published an article about the costs and benefits of living in Canada (http://www.economist.com/tfs/library_tframeset.html but unfortunately only the lead article is available to non-subscribers).
