Paul (and others): Thanks for your help.

I am using a full blown hex editor named "Ultra Edit". I specialize in data conversions and am very familiar with reading files in hex. I did some work on this class on W98 laptop and then transferred back to my NT desktop. That is where the problems started.

I deleted the offending code and reentered it on my desktop and it works fine now. So you solution was the right one, although I am a little bit nervous that this even happened.
