>I need to get a file from a different directory than the current directory. I have 2 global variables for file path and dbf path. Trouble is the GETFILE() does not allow for path names, just extensions. I try not to use "set default path to". Is there another way?

Hi Chuck,

You can use the Common Dialogs ActiveX control's ShowOpen or ShowSave to get this. The control has an InitDir (Initial Directory) property that you can set.
