Those two lines were an add-on to the code you pointed me to.... if I comment those out, then the app's main window remains FIXED ON THE SCREEN ON TOP OF the report preview window, and CANNOT be moved/minimized.... I did it simply out of frustration to get the main window out of the way... Also- even though I commented them out, still had to maximize the button to get the preview window to appear...

BTW... just found a wrapper utility on CompuServe's VFOX forum that specifically addresses this SDI/preview window wierdness.... if I can't get your approach to work for me, will report on this.... and thanks so much again for being patient :)
