Hi Evan:

Well, we have had a long string of not-so-well-known speakers from out of our own user group over the last few years, and decided to shoot high and expand our reach. A number of different members of the SIG are active in the VFP community, and we are blessed with a lot of VFP gurus either in the greater SF Bay Area, or who travel here such that we can 'con' them into coordinating a trip with one of our meetings. Some meetings with our locally known speakers have had spotty attendance, but most of the high-profile speakers have had a good turn out. Even Ken Levy was here for a special meeting back in March as I recall (missed that one).... This week's SIG had over 35 attendees, the Mike Feltman SIG meeting had over 20 as I recall, and the Ken Levy one was reported to have about 100 attendees. We do charge $5.00 for non-members to regular SIG meetings, $10.00 at special speaker events and SIGs, $15-25 for our annual meeting with dinner. Regular dues are $50.00 per year, with free attendance at all our SIGs -- FP/VFP, Access, Internet are active right now. We are also looking at re-starting JAVA and other SIGs.

Anyhow, thanx for the kind words.

Rob
