The code only exececutes the default command line for a given file type or resource. Depending on the machine, that might launch Outlook, Outlook express, Eudora, or nothing at all. If there is no command line registered for Mailto, nothing will happen. If you need to test this ahead of time, all you can do is check the registry under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT for the existence of a mailto entry. Use the FFC registry class or any one of a number of registry utilities available here to read info from the Windows registry.
