Jim, you saved more than the day. This is the first time I asked for assistance on the UT. I normally attempt to help others. Thank you very much. With a date/time field, this works. The customer tables are 2.5 DOS, and the data type is date. I have been programming in so called xBase since January 1982, with dear old dBase II, thru VFP 6.0. The code sample I posted has earned me a great deal of income, which my family requires to exist.

My clients like to be able to select dates, etc., and have a report of the data they requested. It is a neat interface concept, and keeps clients happy. Having a client use Crystal Reports or FoxFire results in many problems, for everyone. Creating a custom table driven form/report, seemed like a good idea in 1991, and I am still using it, with all that VFP has to offer.

It takes about 20 minutes to create an interface, SQL select statement, basic report, and I charge the client for 4 hours, at $95 an hour. If a report is more detailed, it costs more. I have created some reports that are mini accounting systems. VFP is a great deal of fun, and I am always trying to tell IS Directors/Managers what it can do. With my VFP library, I can knock the socks off of VB and Power Builder programmers, and access Oracle, Sybase, and SQL Server with ease, and have my result set back before the other guys. Now the question is, how do we sell VFP to the enities who really matter, the people with the ability to approve budgets?

A friend of mine with a Marketing Degree from UC Berkeley told me: "It does not matter what you know. If you cannot sell it, it has no value"! Let's sell VFP!

Again, thank you very much.

Tom Whiteley, and family.
