The 9/9/99 problem is caused by programmers that treated all nines as a special case to indicate invalid data, test mode, error flag, etc. VFP itself has no problem with the date 9/9/99 but the programmer can create a problem. It's like the Y2K problem. VFP can be used to create compliant applications but the poor programmer can use the same tool to create non-compliant applications.
