Are you saying that any call to the messagebox function freezes the machine? If not, figure out what it different between the ones that do and the ones that don't.
If they all do, then do other windows messages do the same? (VFP's MESSAGEBOX() is only a wrapper around the windows messaging function). In exlporer, rename any file and change its extension. You should receive a windows message that asks if you are sure that you want to change the file type. Does this message causes a freeze?
