>I have recently started using Visual FoxPro 6.0 and have been getting error messages when I try to run queries that worked fine in Fox 2.6. It seems that Visual Fox won't accept my criteria of lastsaledate>12/31/96 for example. The chart in my book shows that < or > should work for all data types. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I use this a lot to count two year buyers.

You need to put the string in the correct form; date literals need to appear with {}, and should be expressed in strict date form with VFP6 {^YYYY-MM-DD}
