Just for grins, I tried your suggestion. I simply created a grid on the locator window with the alias as the record source. Then I filter the records based on what the user entered, followed by a grid refresh. The result in the grid is the same. There are rows of asterisks between each of the expected rows.

BTW, the table contains only 22 records for testing and none are deleted or contain unusual data.

Any other suggestions?
