Remind me not to emigrate to Canada :-)

A close friend of mine is an IT recruiter. She finds that your average, run-of-the-mill VFP position goes from high-30Ks to about 50K max. However, for every ten of those, there is one offer where extreme experience is required and the starting low point for those positions is about $75K.

And there are (a few) VFP positions paying 6 figures. Mainly in NYC, Chicago, Boston, and other big cities.

>>Who did the report? There's a lot of talk about the lack of programmers in Canada, the brain drain, etc. If you look at the job market, the situations is not really so.

>>$45K may be a start salary in some statistics, but not in real life. While I know new graduates that start at 40-45K, a more realistic figure is 25-35K. At least from what I heard of in real life... :)

>I agree with you Paul. I have 10 years of experience and I had offers from employers well bellow 45K.
