If I felt as strongly as you do about this, I would discuss the idea with some of the senior users. In this case, the users strongly oppose 4-digit years. At that point I would have to present my case to the president of the company and he would have to make a decision.

Bottom line is that the users use the system, not me. It works this way and it is no skin off my back either way so I will not waste my time and other people's time with this issue.

If they change their minds in 2000, I will change the program.

Do you really think this is an issue where the analyst/programmer has the final say? This is UI stuff. If the user wants something different (assuming they understand all the ramifications) than I want, they win.
