Yes...just considering things while eating lunch here. Okay, suppose you set it to a value in the Gotfocus, an idea. But if the user already has a value set and selected, and wants to keep it, you can allow for this, but then tabbing through controls will not show a difference in the listbox. If you remove selection, say in Lostfocus, the user may become confused. I think that's why we don't see apps doing this sort of thing, just a WAG...I'm not picturing a good way to do the search using a "standalone" listbox mixed with other controls :)
