I'm very comfortable with all that I do, computerwise. I think you can be proficient in many areas without being "expert" - whatever that means? If I run into something I'm not familiar with, or don't care to learn, I agree, I call someone else. My point is that you can't just write software any longer. You have to have an understanding of operating systems, web technologies, Office applications, wiring, routers ,hubs, etc. I also agree, we shouldn't charge clients for our learning, unless they know it up front and are willing to pay.
