I think that there were some significant changes from 5.0 to 6.0 (and especially 6.0 with SP3). _Access and _Assign events, the Project Manager Object, addition of a number of functions from Foxtools, modification to a number of functions, the ability to build multi-threaded DLLs, better (not perfect, mind you) ActiveX interaction, some date issues (STRICTDATE settings). Additionally, if I recall correctly, better (faster) string handling, more faault tolerant of printer drivers that don't play by the rules. These are just off the top of my head, someone else might name some others.
