>Has anyone created a 'store' on the internet that uses foxpro? I am looking for tools that would speed up the process for creating shopping baskets, credit card verification etc. I know that Westwind is out there but has anyone used it (or another tool) for creating a store application?

Sure. The Surplus Direct (and now the Egghead Surplus Auction site) are
some examples that were built a long time ago... There are a large number
of other shopping sites out there running WWC as well as FoxWeb and presumably
XWorks.

To be honest I would recommend that you do roll your own. First an online
store is pretty trivial from a database and application standpoint. The Web
aspect doesn't make it much more complex as long as you have a basic
grasp on the Web (which you'll have to get regardless of what you do). If not
it's time to dig in...

I say this because I (and several others on our message board) have played
with the idea of building a generic store and decided against it because to
build a generic store solution that fits most businesses is a huge undertaking.
Even huge tools like Commerce Server do a shitty job of that and doesn't
fit the vast majority of businesses.

I've built my own store for my site in a day, and I'm rebuilding it again now
taking a little more time this rev for a more reusable solution, but even then
it'll be nothing more than a demo that I happen to use online <s>...

Just my two cents.
