Actually, if the cursor is in the dropdown it accepts the value, closes the dropdown and moves to the next row. Our problem is perhaps related to too many overrides to the basic functionality of the grid and the controls in it. Right now, I cannot get it to reproduce the record skips in the dropdown under any circumstance. That's good and bad, because between myself and one other developer here we don't know who made a change that might have 'fixed' this problem while we were fixing other problems since last week. But if it starts again, I check out your solution.

Also I left my machine on over the weekend so it is about as hot as it can get inside. So I don't think it is a CPU overheating issue.

Thanks.

Mike A.

>Where is the mouse cursor when the 'jump' occurs? I'm betting if you get it out of the way of the dropdown, the problem goes away.

>>I've got a combo box in a grid column which uses a table (not a cursor) as a recordset and displays two fields out of the table and binding to the first of those fields. When I use the keyboard keys UP and DOWN to move through the list, I sometimes notice a 'jump' across several records. This occurs whether I click the up or down arrow keys quickly or slowly. It is not on the same records each time. I can usually backup and select the record that was passed over.
