Nope, that article refers to being able to take advantage of the hardware. Beginning with Win2000 Beta 2, a 64-bit compiler was available. We're well past that point, having seen Beta 3, Beta 3 RC1, and now RC 1 itself. In fact, from what I understand all of the servers at MS are currently running Win 2000 server. The compiler already has a predefined macro, however, identifying the Intel 64 bit architecture (_M_IA64).
