There seems to have been some change in Valid behavior since vfp3 to 5 to 6, according to some testing I did. The valid "setfocus" in a textbox call to lostfocus still causes an error but in some other controls it doesn't. However, as it turned out, the technique did not work right anyway for a different reason :) I suggested a much simpler method that I hope may work...
