DCOM is not automatically installed by SP3; the two problem platforms are Win95 prior to OSR 2.5 (you can install the self-installing DCOM95 executable from Microsoft, or install IE 4 or above) and WinNT 4.0 (installing NT SP3 or later will install the required components.) Both Win98 and Win2K automatically contain the needed DCOM components.
