Ed,

VFP5.0 has a bug in the PROMPT option of the REPORT FORM command.

There is a maintenance release (5.0a) of Visual FoxPro available from
Microsoft that fixes this bug. It's free (except for a $5.00 S&H charge), and here is the information you need to order.

Call 800-370-9257 and tell them you want to order Visual FoxPro 5.0a as a maintenance release (PN 340-00513). They may ask you for a number from your CD jacket. They do not want the CD KEY: but the other number on the white label. Other than that, all they needed from me was a shipping address.

VFP5.0a is not an upgrade, but a complete installation. Because it is a free release, Microsoft does not care if you order one copy and then install it for each copy you own. If you do this, you will wind up with only one product ID and therefore support for only one product. Also, some processes in VFP require the CD to be in the drive. It's better to order a copy for each one you own. I received 5.0a (on 19 diskettes) within 5 days of ordering.

The person I talked to could not tell me what bugs had been fixed, but it does fix the printing problem that you described.

>A former employee for our company wrote an application for a client which produces several reports. The reports were origanally designed with a HP5P as the printer for the reports. When the reports were transferred over to the client computer the reports print all in the upper right 1 inch of the paper. Making it impossible to read. Since then the employee has quit and of course did not leave the program documentation. Is this problem just a matter of fonts or are we missing something else. I don't have this kind of problem when writing reports in FoxPro 2.6. We are currently using FoxPro Professional Ver. 5.0 for the application. Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated......
