What does remote data access have to do with buffering? Buffering is a function that allows ease of managing user interfaces and the saving or rejecting of user changes to data in the UI. Data access is a totally different thing.

Buffering does not preclude or dictate how you access the data or where the data comes from. It affects the UI componenets and how they manage the user changes to the data in the UI.

The question "Buffering or SQLPT" is similar to "Car or Telephone". Thes two things are not mutually exclusive or inclusive in any way. They serve different purposes and provide different benefits.
