You need to get not only the .dbf files, but also the memo files, which should be .fpt files by the same name as the .dbf files (ie test.dbf and test.fpt). It would be best to copy all files that are on the Mac diskette to a Mac computer and then to the PC diskette. That way you will hopefully have the memo files, index files, etc (unless they are missing from the Mac diskette).

If you suspect the transfer to the PC diskette is the problem, FTP the files in binary mode to a FTP site you can access from both the Mac and the PC.
