Hurricane (or was it Tropical Storm?) Floyd passed thru Flannel Land Pennsylvania dumping an estimated 2 feet of water and ripping thru with winds in excess of 50 mph. This after reaping much havoc up the the eastern US coast. Unlike the devastation seen on televised newscasts, Flannel Land mostly suffered BFM... big ****ing mess. Trees are down, powerlines are out, minor flash flooding, but no fatalities listed in this morning's paper.

As for me... I woke up to a back porch that looked like it hosted Friday Night Mud Wrestling a day early, a pine tree devoid of 90% of it's needles, and some unattending gardening that no longer presents a pending concern. Luckily too I have power, phone, cable... no loss in my neighborhood. But at the office, no power & no phones. < rhg > what ashame on a Friday when the sun is shining bright and the paper is calling for a beautiful day.

My condolences to those who suffered Floyd's wrath. But personally, the word "Floyd" is putting a big smile on my face today!!! Atleast until I go tackle the mudpit on my back porch... there's gotta be concrete under there somewhere =D)
