I have the same exact problem that you described in a previous post. I included some of the thread below to jolt your memmory. I am running win95, word97, vfp 6.0 sp3.

1) Did you ever find a resolution?
2) How do you remove and reinstall ODBC drivers. I have tried several things but have never done it before and do not understand how to remove and reinstall ODBC drivers.
3) I did not follow Scott's message about using the dbase driver. dbase is not a data source listed in Word. How do you use it and then rename it to 'FoxPro Files'? I did not follow that.
4) The listed URL is not longer valid. Do you have a copy, or remember if it was relevent to your situation?

I have been pulling my hair out all day with this problem. Would appreciate any help.

Thanks

Brenda

>Since I installed SP3 along with the Data Access Pack 2.1 as directed I no longer have a data source type of Foxpro or Visual FoxPro in MS Word97 (I used to have both). If I try to open a word document or template that performs a datamerge I get the error "Data source name not found and no default driver specified".

>I have removed and reinstalled All the OBDC drivers to no avail. Any ideas??

>>I think I ran into the same problem today. I don't think it has anything to do with SP3, I think it is the ODBC stuff. What I have done for the time being is use the dbase driver and name it 'FoxPro Files' and tell it dbaseIV type files(I assume you are accessing .dbf files). Let me know if this works for you. Also if you find a better solution please post and email me your solution

>>>Thanks for the reply. I can install dBase IV as an OBDC driver as you did and this will show up in the data source type list for MS Word97. The problem is that I am passing a dbf that uses memo fields [fpt attached]. The dBase IV driver will not open the memo fields. I am still puzzled as too why Foxpro or Visual FoxPro data type no longer appears in the Word list. I have reinstalled and uninstalled both Word & ODBC data access packs with no luck
