Thank you for jumping into the discussion. I placed the ms comm control v6 and a command button on a form. I read through some of the help file. You are right. This control looks full featured. But, Back to my original question. Which PEMs do I use to get this thing to dial the phone for me. I have a modem sitting on COM2. And, What code would I have to place where to get the control to dial a phone number for me.

>PMFJI, but Marcia's code is more for Win 3.x. The 32 bit API of Win 9x and NT significantly changed the way you access the serial port. It's much better to use an ActiveX control like MSComm.
