Hi Marcia,

T e r r i f i c ....... That was it. This is simple and seems to answer my question head-on. All I need is to set up a preferance table so the routine knows which com port to communicate with and which area code should be considered the home area code. So, the area code is not dialed when it is not necessary. I guess I also need the ability to prefix with a string just in case my users telephone systems require it. IE: dial 1 or dial 9 + 1.
PS
Do you see any reason that I should consider the MS Comm activex as a dialer.
