I suppose this is another case where we are hampered by the fact that report controls are not real objects. Or perhaps it's some other reason why picture masks don't work and diagonal lines are unavailable?
If you work with a BMP in reports, no MSK is needed. Just make sure that the BMP picture is "Sent to Back", in other words is laying behind all other objects and that the other objects are all Transparent.
