I'm having some trouble scattering and gathering. I have a table and make an exact copy of it using select * from ......

The user is allowed to edit the new table and at the end I zap certain records from the old table, scatter from the new and gather in the old.

hmmm...Should work no? ;-)

But some fields are not showing up in the table when I browse it afterwards.
