I don't like the idea of deleting files programatically because there are things that Windows could be doing on a reboot that you might affect.

I understand what you are saying. I have had users swear they shut down correctly if I look at the windows temp file without vfp running the temp files are there. If I create a temp directory to hold the temp files and on startup if any are there and delete them what harm could this cause. Your message said look at why this would happen give me some ideals to look for.
