Ok, this part I assume is working using WWC, AFP, or possibly ASP to access the data. Is this a correct assumption?

This is where it can get tricky. Some possible ways to handle this are PPTP (Point to point tunneling protocol) or RAS to in effect map a drive over to the web host. Inherent problems here are security. Another method, albeit one I've never tried but sounds reasonable enough, it via a Fat Client. Rick Strahl, www.west-wind.com, has a good article on his site about this. Check out "Internet enabling Visual FoxPro applications". This is probably the best approach for what you want to do from your end for maintenance.
