Many thanks. Your code would certainly do what I need, although somewhat more than I need. I have an app that can read the email file and look for what it wants to find, and attachments are not a concern. Is there an easy way to simply find out what default file and directory are being used for received email?

>Evan is right here. My class (in the files section - classes) MAPIMail can read attachments from any MAPI compliant mail client. You won't find the attachment files using explorer. If you use my class, you will be able to access the attachment files directly through the InBox - the files are not stored anywhere until you open the message they are attached to, my class will solve this for you. Have a go!
