Mark,
There are elements in a grid with no mousepointer property. Setting mousepointer for others wouldn't help you much. I would simply say forget it in a grid. There is a relatively complex workaround though. Place a transparent shape control in front of grid. It would intercept mouse events and pass them to underlying controls as appropriate.
